{"id":11553,"date":"2025-05-26T10:33:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-26T09:33:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/builtcolab.pt\/built-colab-supports-porto-vivo-sru-in-a-project-to-evaluate-its-housing-stock\/"},"modified":"2025-07-14T16:18:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T15:18:36","slug":"built-colab-supports-porto-vivo-sru-in-a-project-to-evaluate-its-housing-stock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/builtcolab.pt\/en\/news\/built-colab-supports-porto-vivo-sru-in-a-project-to-evaluate-its-housing-stock\/","title":{"rendered":"BUILT CoLAB supports Porto Vivo, SRU in a project to evaluate its housing stock"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>BUILT CoLAB recently started a collaboration with Porto Vivo, SRU, with the aim of addressing the environmental challenges of rehabilitating and managing its building stock.<\/p>\n\n<p>Considering that the built environment is responsible for more than a third of environmental impacts, material and energy consumption, the project&#8217;s main objectives are:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a systematic environmental impact assessment methodology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a mathematical model to extrapolate results and to map Porto Vivo SRU&#8217;s building stock portfolio in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify strategies to reduce emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>To this end, BIM models will be defined and a Life Cycle Analysis of archetypes (representing standard buildings) will be carried out, followed by the construction of a mathematical model to evaluate the base scenario for the entire Porto Vivo, SRU building portfolio, portraying the current impacts. Alternatives will also be evaluated and a Good Practices Manual will be developed, which will include emission reduction strategies and projected reduction potential.<\/p>\n\n<p>Through this project, Porto Vivo, SRU will be able to realise a measurable reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, define a replicable methodology for new projects, improve the energy and material efficiency of its housing stock, and be a direct support to the carbon neutrality goals of the Municipality of Porto.<\/p>\n\n<p>BUILT CoLAB will develop a scientific approach to sustainable urban regeneration, continuing to fulfil its mission of contributing to the Digital and Sustainable Transition of the AEC Sector.<\/p>\n\n<p>Over the next few months we&#8217;ll be sharing the progress of this project here and on the other channels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BUILT CoLAB recently started a collaboration with Porto Vivo, SRU, with the aim of addressing the environmental challenges of rehabilitating and managing its building stock.
