&#8211; Universal Timber Slab is a Horizon Europe project (EIC Pathfinder), led by the University of Stuttgart, which aims to develop a new structural system based on timber slab solutions for multi-storey buildings as an alternative to conventional concrete slabs.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1eeb1ad elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1eeb1ad\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>To achieve these goals, the project combines computational design, robotics and engineering processes supported by artificial intelligence to design wooden slabs with free geometries, ultra-thin profiles and greater structural efficiency, making it possible to simulate them right from the building&#8217;s conception.<\/p>\n<p>UTS also focuses on resource efficiency and circularity, minimising the use of materials with a greater environmental impact, maximising the use of low-carbon materials and their reuse throughout their life project, BUILT CoLAB is responsible for developing a BIM interface, as well as evaluating costs through life cycle costing assessment.
