AllIndustry Decarbonization & Reporting

C2Ø – Construction to Zero

C2Ø – Construction to Zero is the Roadmap for the Decarbonisation of the construction sector and associated industrial activities and its ambition is to be a strategic project for Portugal to achieve the targets set for 2050, using synergies within the construction sector between specific industries – Manufacture of other carpentry work for construction; Manufacture of concrete products for construction; Manufacture of ready-mixed concrete; Manufacture of mortars; and Manufacture of bituminous mixtures – integrating technological innovation in processes and contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions.

In this context, the C2Ø Roadmap focuses on the products, materials and activities of the construction sector, including industrial activities, material and energy flows, and the existing and future building stock.

The project will incorporate national climate transition strategies (such as the PNEC2030 and the RNC2050), seeking to articulate with other existing roadmaps (such as the National Cement Industry Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality 2050) to boost performance improvements in the industries it integrates, as well as in the AEC sector.

The C2Ø – Construction to Zero Roadmap is the result of a joint application by PTPC and ATIC to the Support Measure for the Development of Industry Decarbonisation and Company Capacity Building Roadmaps, and is co-financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, under the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The Consortium aims to promote the ecological transition of companies and public organisations in the construction industry, and to reduce the energy and carbon intensity of the industry assumed by Portugal. In order to achieve its objectives, the consortium has the support of two organisations: BUILT CoLAB and 3drivers.
