Vanessa Tavares, from BUILT CoLAB, took part in one of the panel discussions at the event themed Maior Circularidade, which took place as part of the TECH4Sustainability initiative on 19 July in Porto.

In this panel, Vanessa Tavares, together with Maria Ramalho from Casais and moderated by Castorina Vieira from FEUP, addressed the topic of ‘Building a Circular Future’, and discussed the challenges and opportunities in terms of circularity for the AEC Sector, and how they foresee it over the next 10 years. Vanessa Tavares also focused on the role that BUILT CoLAB plays in favour of the twin transition, ecological and digital, of the AEC sector.

In the other panels of the event, Filipe Araújo from the Municipality of Porto, Rui Calçada and Bárbara Rangel from FEUP presented the TECH4Sustainability initiative and its objectives, and Daniel Freitas from the Municipality of Porto, Joana Maia Dias from FEUP and Luís Assunção from Porto Ambiente talked about how circularity is put into practice in the urban context.

The TECH4Sustainability initiative is organised by the Municipality of Porto, under the coordination of Porto Digital and the Porto Carbon Neutrality Directorate and as part of the Porto Climate Pact activity, and FEUP. Its aim is to demystify science for citizens, making scientific knowledge more accessible and understandable, while also demonstrating its applicability in practical cases in the context of the city of Porto.

In addition to the theme of Maior Circularidade, it will soon address the themes of Mais Energia Limpa and Melhor Mobilidade. Full information available here.
