October 14th is World Standardisation Day! BUILT CoLAB, as the ONS – Sector Standardisation Body responsible for coordinating CT 197 BIM, joins IPQ – Portuguese Quality Institute in celebrating this date, which aims to highlight the importance of standardisation and reinforce the commitment to promoting and using standards in Portugal.
To mark the date, the IPQ is promoting various activities, such as the Standardisation Routes, holding face-to-face and digital events, as well as launching promotional campaigns to sell standards in its online shop. See information here.
The aim of these initiatives is to demonstrate the importance of using standards and the impact that standardisation has on the competitiveness of companies, as well as supporting innovation. Internationally, international standards stand out as the backbone of global progress, as they ensure interoperability, safety and sustainability, promoting global collaboration to accelerate innovation through AI.
For BUILT CoLAB, standardisation is therefore a topic of great importance and one of the working bases we use to promote the digital and ecological transition of the AEC sector in Portugal.
