BUILT CoLAB recently completed the pilot test of BIMonitor, developed in partnership with Gabriel Couto, which demonstrated the potential of Augmented Reality to transform construction monitoring.
Over the last few months, the two organisations have collaborated on the development of an innovative solution that allows multiple BIM models of on-site specialities to be visualised and overlaid, providing an integrated and accurate view of the project.
BIMonitor enables real-time monitoring, with immediate identification of deviations and dynamic bi-directional updates of BIM information. It also has specialised filtering tools, ensuring a high degree of control over the elements displayed, providing professionals with more efficient analysis and more informed decision-making.
In addition, functionalities have been developed that allow distances, areas and angles to be measured directly on the virtual model, reinforcing on-site inspection and validation capabilities.

The partnership with Gabriel Couto was key to testing and validating this innovative solution in a real context, reinforcing the importance of inter-institutional collaboration for the digitalisation of the AEC sector.
