BUILT CoLAB recently completed two of the objectives set out in the partnership established with Blufab and TopBIM, part of the Casais Group: the release of the ModuLAB and ModuLIB plugins for Revit software.

This partnership aims to develop BIM support software that optimises modular construction processes, providing greater efficiency and precision at all stages of the project:

  • ModuLAB aims to group several divisions of a given type into as few coherent modules as possible, with similar geometry and other attributes, and export these modules to ModuLIB for further processing. This strategy aims to minimise variability in the design phase, thereby increasing repeatability and efficiency in the factory production phase.
  • ModuLIB represents a library of modular objects and administrative tools for their management. These tools support the deconstruction of complete geometries into configurable modular units, enabling the creation of multiple design variations from the same basic elements. It was developed with the aim of supporting modular design in architecture and construction projects, promoting more efficient, standardised workflows that are compatible with industrial production.

This partnership is now moving into a new phase, where the aim is to make a public version of the modular object library and its configurators available on the web.

In this way, BUILT CoLAB continues to work closely with companies to fulfil its mission of promoting the digitalisation of the AEC sector.
