The application period for the 2026 BIM Excellence Award is open until June 12.
This is an initiative by CT 197 – BIM, in partnership with BUILT CoLAB and PTPC/Cluster AEC, which aims to promote and advance the digitalisation and implementation of BIM methodology at a national level by disseminating and promoting best practices, particularly those based on existing standards and guidelines, thereby strengthening the sector’s international competitiveness.
In its 2026 edition, the BIM Excellence Award continues its mission, reflecting the sector’s growing digital maturity and placing even greater emphasis on interoperability, structured information management and technological innovation associated with the BIM methodology.
This year, there will be six categories:
1. Donos de Obra: Contratação e Gestão;
2. Coordenação e Projeto;
3. Planeamento e Construção;
4. Gestão do Ambiente Construído;
5. Interoperabilidade: openBIM;
6. Inovação Tecnológica em BIM.
O júri é constituído por especialistas de reconhecido mérito nacional e internacional, integrando representantes das entidades organizadoras e de instituições académicas e profissionais do setor: Paula Couto (LNEC), Débora Pinto (BUILT COLAB), Rita Moura (PTPC/Cluster AEC), Fernando Pinho (Ordem dos Engenheiros), Cláudia Antunes (Ordem dos Arquitectos), José Carlos Lino (buildingSMART Portugal), António Aguiar Costa (CERIS – IST), Francisco Teixeira Bastos (CiTUA – IST), João Poças Martins (CONSTRUCT – FEUP), Miguel Azenha (ISISE – UMinho), Diogo Ribeiro (iBuilt – ISEP), Eduardo Toledo Santos (Universidade de São Paulo), Ricardo Codinhoto (Universidade de Bath) e Sergio Muñoz Gómez (buildingSMART Espanha).
