Applications for the BIM 2021 Excellence Award, an award created by CT197-BIM, the Bim National Technical Commission for Standardization, are open, and this year with the support of BUILT CoLAB, and Cluster AEC/PTPC.
The BIM Excellence Award aims to enhance and promote the digitization and implementation of BIM at the national level through the dissemination and promotion of good practices, especially those resulting from existing standards.
Applications run from April 12 to May 14 and stakeholders can compete in the categories of “Simulation and Project”, “Planning and Construction”, and “Management of the Built Environment – Buildings and Infrastructure”. The finalists will be revealed on May 31, 2021.
The Jury is chaired by António Aguiar Costa, R&D Director of BUILT CoLAB and President of CT197 – BIM, and will also be composed of representatives of reference institutions of the AEC Sector: Claúdia Antunes (Ordem dos Arquitetos), Fernando Pinho (Ordem dos Engenheiros), Francisco Teixeira Bastos (Instituto Superior Técnico), João Poças Martins (Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto), Miguel Azenha (Universidade do Minho), Paula Couto (National Laboratory of Civil Engineering) and Rita Moura (Cluster AEC/PTPC).
The BIM Excellence Award was created by CT197-BIM, the Bim National Technical Commission for Standardization, consisting of dozens of volunteer specialists who contribute to BIM standardization. In 2021, BULT CoLAB, Cluster AEC, and PTPC – Portuguese Technology Platform of Construction are added to this initiative, with the aim of promoting good practices and sensitizing industry and public administration to the need for digital transition in construction.
