João Moutinho from BUILT CoLAB attended the Tour des Capitales, a European event held on November 14 and 15 in Lisbon, and took part in the round table at the CoLABs Breakout Session.

The Tour des Capitales was organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, in cooperation with ANI, FCT and the European Commission, and focused on the debate and sharing of experiences between representatives of academia, industry and international institutions on the different mechanisms for valuing knowledge, which are fundamental to accelerating the adoption of innovative solutions, developing new technologies, products and services and leveraging competitiveness and impact on the economy and society.

The session was attended by André Matos (DTx), Sofia Côrte-Real (VectorB2B), Tatiana Costa (Alma Science), Francisco Gírio (BIOREF), Rui Martins (Smart Energy Lab) and Hélène Kirchner (INRIA), and moderated by Gonçalo Zagalo (FCT), João Moutinho and the other participants contributed to the debate from the perspective of the CoLABs, focusing on the main challenges, opportunities and good practices to be applied within the scope of the codes of practice for the valorization of knowledge being developed by the European Commission.

The debate focused on reflecting on these codes, namely the “Code of good practice on standardization in the European Research Area”, the “Code of practice on the management of intellectual assets for the valorization of knowledge”, and the “Code of practice on industry-academia collaboration and citizen participation”, with the ultimate aim of fostering a collaborative environment that promotes the valorization of knowledge.
