BUILT CoLAB is one of the partners in the Sustainable Stone by Portugal Agenda and is already in the midst of developing its activities as part of Work Package (WP) 6, focusing on activity 6.1- Sustainable Digital Hub for the Local Economy (Porto de Mós).

The aim of this WP is to promote training and attract human resources to the Natural Stone Sector. It is in this context that BUILT CoLAB plays a central role in the development of various tasks aimed at providing this Hub with tools that promote its mission and operation: capacity building, advanced training and experimentation with new technologies for the Natural Stone sector.

To this end, BUILT CoLAB is developing solutions for this Hub, including the development of a “learning management system” which will include a tool that will allow the creation of immersive didactic content for capacity building and training by visualising and interacting with 360 videos using virtual or augmented reality devices. This tool aims to innovate the way in which training content is created and transmitted and to allow more interactivity, realism and remote operation (to allow asynchronous or non-face-to-face training, for example). In this way, the process of training human resources is expected to become more agile and engaging, making it more attractive and easier to pass on knowledge to trainees or even between generations of human resources.

BUILT CoLAB also plans to organise training sessions demonstrating these technologies within the scope of the BIM methodology and the use of low-code tools, which will form part of the portfolio of services to be made available at the Hub.

In order to better respond to the needs of the Natural Stone sector, a diagnosis of the digital maturity of companies was also carried out in 4 different areas – Digitalisation, Digital Transition, Building Information Modelling and Sustainability, which will allow the content to be developed and subsequently made available to the Hub to be better adapted.
