Vanessa Tavares, from BUILT CoLAB, was the guest speaker at the first City Café | Ciclo Conectar, an initiative of Porto Digital’s Porto Innovation Hub, which took place on 12 March in Porto and addressed the topic of “Smart Cities Infrastructure and Sustainable Urban Planning”.
In this session, Vanessa Tavares presented the definition and principles of Smart Cities, their implementation plan and examples, as well as their attractiveness and impact on cities. The challenges and opportunities were discussed together with a participative audience.
These sessions are inspired by a “coffee break” and are based on a participatory nature, with the main aim of fostering collaboration between participants and guest speakers. This Connect Cycle, which began in 2024, aims to address the need to create bridges between innovation, development and sustainability.
BUILT CoLAB, as a collaborative laboratory, is perfectly aligned with the initiative and its objectives, looking at technologies and the digital transition as a way for the AEC sector to become more circular and sustainable.
