BUILT CoLAB organised yesterday the first Workshop that took place in the framework of the Circular Agreement with the Construction Industry, dedicated to the topic “Circular economy: life cycle view (LCA) from design to deconstruction of the construction site, the role of construction site owners”.
This workshop aimed to internalize knowledge to comply with the legal framework regarding the responsibilities of construction site owners and understand what blockages exist through the exchange of experiences and realities. To this end, the speakers were Mafalda Mota, from APA, who approached the subject under the regulatory framework of waste management in force, José Dinis Silvestre, from IST, whose intervention focused on the LCA methodology, José Paulino, from APA, and Sara Dias, from IMPIC, who had a more focused approach on Green Public Procurement.
This was followed by a period of debate among all the participants divided into working groups, who thus had the opportunity to give their input and suggestions that would allow for a broader understanding of the topic.
We recall that this initiative took place within the scope of the Circular Agreement with the Construction Industry, the Collaboration Protocol between BUILT CoLAB, the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Action and the Environmental Fund, and that also has the Confederation of Portuguese Industry (CIP) as partner entities, CPCI – Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate, AICCOPN – Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries, AECOPS – Association of Construction and Public Works and Services Companies, PTPC – Portuguese Technological Platform for Construction, IMPIC – Institute for Public Markets, Real Estate and Construction, I.
