BUILT CoLAB took part in the 1st Meeting of Civil Engineers – Innovation and Sustainability, organized by the Regional Council of the College of Civil Engineering – North, which took place at FEUP – Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto on October 27.
Vanessa Tavares, Head of Sustainability, was a speaker at the 4th session of the program, dedicated to “Sustainability and the Strategic Vision of Civil Engineering”, addressing the topic of “Sustainability in Civil Construction”. João Poças Martins, R&D Director, was present at the debate on “Teaching and Innovation in Civil Engineering”, which took place in the first session of the day, representing FEUP.
The aim of this event was to showcase the most innovative and sustainable work that Civil Engineers are doing in Portugal and around the world, with a strategic vision of mobilizing, publicizing and projecting the Civil Engineering profession. It also aimed to demonstrate how innovation and sustainability go hand in hand, through the use of tools such as digitalization and other innovative and sustainable technologies, associated with new construction methods.
