BUILT CoLAB has just been recognized by IPQ, the Portuguese Quality Institute, as a Sectorial Standardization Body (ONS).
This attribution of responsibility makes BUILT CoLAB, from now on, the entity responsible for the coordination of CT 197, the Technical Committee for Standardization (CT) of Building Information Modelling (BIM). In addition to the coordination of the TCs, the NSOs have general attributions, attributions related to the production of normative documents, issue opinions, participate in European and international meetings, and are also responsible for preparing the plan and report of activities, the Standardization Program (NP), as well as the dissemination of normative activities in their sector.
BUILT CoLAB thus takes another step towards promoting the digitalization of the AEC sector, for which the standardization of BIM methodology in a comprehensive manner is essential. The work to be developed together with the other members of this TC 197 will be of extreme importance for the achievement of this goal.
