BUILT CoLAB is supporting ATIC – Associação Técnica da Indústria do Cimento (Technical Association of the Cement Industry) in the drafting and development of C2Ø – Construction to Zero, the Decarbonisation Roadmap for the construction sector and associated industrial activities.

The ambition of C2Ø – Construction to Zero is to be a strategic project for Portugal to achieve the targets set for 2050, using synergies within the construction sector between specific industries – Manufacture of other carpentry work for construction; Manufacture of concrete products for construction; Manufacture of ready-mixed concrete; Manufacture of mortars; and Manufacture of bituminous mixtures – integrating technological innovation in processes and contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions. To this end, it aims to draw up evolution scenarios, identify technological solutions and innovative processes that will contribute to their ecological and digital transition, and also provide cross-cutting training for the implementation of decarbonisation solutions.

Within this framework, BUILT CoLAB provides specialised technical assistance services, such as research and consultancy relevant to the development of the Roadmap, as well as communication and dissemination of its actions.

The project’s first event, the Opening Conference, will take place on 26 November at 2pm at the AICCOPN headquarters in Porto, where its objectives, areas of coverage and initial diagnostic results will be publicly presented.

Participation is free, but registration is required here.

This Roadmap is the result of a joint application by ATIC and PTPC to the Support Measure for the Development of Industry Decarbonisation and Company Capacity Building Roadmaps, and is co-financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, under the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan.
