João Moutinho and Marco Pedroso, from BUILT CoLAB, took part in the closing session of the R2CS – Circular Network for Sustainable Construction project, which took place at Gaiurb’s premises on June 6th.

During the event Marco Pedroso, Head of Sustainability, presented the pilot project ‘Glossary for sustainability and circularity in the built environment’, a project developed by the BUILT CoLAB team in co-creation with Gaiurb. Muro Atelier, another of the companies invited to the event, also presented another pilot project entitled “Buildings as a materials bank: materials cataloging form”.

During the presentation session, there was also the opportunity to see many sustainability and circularity objectives being achieved in the territories of the institutions involved in the project, in action plans with measures, indicators, targets and governance models, which BUILT CoLAB has been following over the last few months.

BUILT CoLAB congratulates all eight municipalities for their enthusiasm and participation in this R2CS project and reinforces its willingness to collaborate with everyone in the implementation of their Action Plans.

Our mission is to bring a systemic approach to tackling the challenges facing our built environment, whether through digitalization or its combination with sustainability and circularity. We would therefore like to thank R2CS for the opportunity to be part of this initiative!

We hope that the DGT, the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Action and the Environmental Fund will continue to promote and support the implementation of these plans.
