João Moutinho moderated the debate on BIM and the Industrialization of Construction at the 1st APPC Congress

João Moutinho, Director of BUILT CoLAB, was the moderator of the debate “Impacts of collaborative BIM methodologies and the industrialization of construction” which took place during the 1st Congress of the APPC – Portuguese Association of Designers and Consultants, and featured António Carlos Rodrigues, from the Casais Group, Inês Lobo, from Inês Lobo Arquitectos, José Cardoso Botelho, from Vanguard Properties, and José Carlos Lino, from NEWTON C – Engineering Consultants.

This panel, which brought together representatives of companies in the sector with extensive experience in the subject, aimed to highlight the current importance of the matter, with the contributions and points of view of the speakers on the mandatory use of BIM and urban licensing, and the challenges and advantages of the industrialization of construction.

Dedicated to the theme “Architecture and Engineering: A sector undergoing accelerated change”, this 1st APPC Congress was chaired by Pedro Siza Vieira and also featured Inés Ferguson, President of EFCA (European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations) as keynote speaker.

The debate moderated by João Moutinho allowed participants to see how the issues of digitalization and industrialization of construction are increasingly inherent to the AEC sector and unavoidable in the future of its activity.
