Today, March 4th,  we celebrate the UNESCO World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development.

This date, established at the 40th UNESCO General Conference in 2019 and marked since 2020, is an opportunity to distinguish the achievements of engineers and engineering in the modern world, as well as to promote a better public understanding of how engineering and technology are central to modern life and sustainable development. They are central figures for the development and implementation of technologies and systems that aligned with the UN SDGs for the issues of water, energy, environment, sustainable cities, the resilience of natural disasters, among other areas.

Since BUILT CoLAB’s mission is to promote the digital and climate transition of buildings and infrastructure, making them adaptable, intelligent, resilient, and sustainable, we are fully aligned with these objectives and to mark this day is reinforcing the importance of our work with the AEC sector in Portugal.

World Engineering Day 2021 (WED2021)  theme is “Engineering for a Healthy Planet” and will also coincide with the launch of the 2nd ENGINEERING Report of UNESCO “Engineering for Sustainable Development: Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals”.
