An application submitted to the “Notice 01/2020 – Recognition of Digital Innovation Hub and access to the European Network” is under evaluation for the creation of DIGITALbuilt, a Digital Innovation Hub that unifies three sectors in the theme of the Built Environment: Architecture, Engineering and Construction, Mineral Resources and Railway. The three Clusters thus came together to develop this initiative and offer SMEs and Public Administration digital transformation services, capacity building, digital inclusion, support for funding and intermediation, to increase the competitiveness, sustainability, and efficiency of these sectors.

This one-stop-shop for SMEs and Public Administration is coordinated by Cluster AEC and managed with the other two Clusters (Mineral Resources and Portuguese Railway Platform). It also has the partnership of BUILT CoLAB, Technological Interface Centers (ITECONS, StoneCITI, and briefly the Railway Skills Center), and other support entities (FI GROUP and FNWAY).

It will be a Hub with a strong Sector application that will focus on the competencies of Artificial Intelligence, Simulation, Cyberphysical Systems (IoT), Digital or Interoperability Solutions for the Public Sector, Advanced Materials, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Big Data, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Connectivity Solutions. Many of these skills will be made available to the market in a unique and highly applied (and therefore very efficient) approach to the specific problem of the Built Environment theme.

DIGITALbuilt is also currently collaborating in the development of international partnerships for the application of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) network and the creation of International Corridors of Digital Innovation Hubs.
