Inês Caetano, from BUILT CoLAB, attended the presentation of issue 14 of the academic journal Joelho – Journal of Architectural Culture, which took place at ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa on 14 February, and took part in the round table on the theme “Digital Culture, What’s next?”.
This debate, which was attended by professionals and academics in the field of architecture and construction – Alexandra Paio (ISCTE), Bruno Gil (University of Coimbra), and Paula Melâneo (editor of the Jornal Arquitectos and architect and partner at 18-25 Research Studio), addressed various topics around the impact of culture and digital tools on the current practice of the profession, as well as the challenges these pose for its future.
In her speech, Inês Caetano also focused on the importance of collaborative laboratories such as BUILT CoLAB in bringing industry and academia closer together, in this case contributing to the application of cutting-edge digital technology, such as virtual and augmented reality and parametric modelling, to construction in a conscious and effective way – the digital and ecological transformation that BUILT CoLAB’s mission is to promote in the AEC sector.
